This hospital wasn’t supposed to exist. For 10 years, we were told no. Here’s why we’re still here, fighting for our community.
Decades ago, our community was told we didn’t need our own hospital. That the care we deserved wasn’t a priority. But a handful of determined neighbors—doctors, lawyers, and regular folks—refused to take no for an answer. For 10 years, they fought, fundraised, and rallied, building what would become Chesapeake Regional Healthcare from the ground up. That same rebellious spirit and commitment to our community is in everything we do today. It’s in every doctor who listens, every question we answer, and every new service we build. We’re not just in Chesapeake; we’re from Chesapeake.
